Following on the successful inaugural event in 2013, the Southeast Creative Summit once again will be three days of film and video workshops across a wide array of creative media topics presented by actual working professionals in the film and television production business. These people have to meet deadlines, build up new clients, and stay up on the latest industry trends.
The Atlanta Cutters (a non-profit organization) developed the Summit as an affordable 3 day event for creative professionals to share insider, practical knowledge with other creatives. Knowing what to do with all the creative tools available today; to complete a task, create something original, improve on in-house concepts and please your bosses & clients… it’s knowledge that puts you ahead of the curve. Understanding the business and marketing side of the industry is vital to grow your career and company. You’ll gain insider knowledge to what works and doesn’t in growing a successful career in the creative media field.
We encourage you to bring your other half or your entire family with you to explore all Atlanta has to offer while you soak up the creative knowledge. Click the “Explore Atlanta” button at the bottom of this page to check out some ideas.
Workshops are all presented by working professionals.
The workshops are expected to cover production topics from concept to finish to business growth including Editorial, Color, Graphics, VFX, Sound, Producer, Budgeting, Facility / Suite design, Social Media, Contracts, 4k, Field Sound, Music Composition, Sound Design, Cameras and Acquisition, Lighting techniques and more. Each workshop session will run 90 minutes with up to 10 workshops per session. We’ll provide full details on all workshops as they become available. Check the Workshops page often!

The Summit will take place November 7 -9, 2014 . Check-In will open up on the afternoon of November 8th and we’ll have a casual get together that evening too for folks who are already in town. General schedule follows, there will be a total of 10 workshop sessions with 8-10 workshops offered during each session. Seating capacity for each workshop will be approx. 40 people.
Thursday, Nov 6th. Afternoon, early evening Check-In. Evening Happy Hour meet-up for those in town at one of The Westin bars.
Friday, Nov 7th. 8AM, Check-in. 10am – 6:00pm All Day, Four Workshop Sessions. Evening, Happy Hour & Tweet-Up Social. Dinner on your own.
Saturday, Nov 8th. 9:00am – 5:00pm All day, Four Workshop Sessions. Atlanta Creative Ball, PM (separate purchase required)
Sunday, Nov 9th. 9:00am – 12:15pm Two Workshop Sessions. 12:15pm Event Ends.

Our tribute to NAB’s ‘Media Motion Ball’ returns!
On Saturday Night, November 8th,we are bringing back the Media Event of the Year: The Atlanta Creative Ball! Last year we brought the “fun of the Media Motion Ball” from Las Vegas to the ATL so we’re going to do it again for 2014! This will be a great night to relax, enjoy some great food, awesome networking and conversation and probably the largest creative raffle we’ve ever had in this city!
This will be a casual sit down dinner featuring our many sponsors, a keynote presenter and some special guests. And yes we said CASUAL, as in “come as you are.” No formal event here, just come to party and enjoy the presentations.
The Atlanta Creative Ball is a stand-alone-event. Attendance to the summit is not required. Meaning you can purchase a ticket to the Ball without having to come to the Summit….. but why would you want to do that … especially since Summit attendees receive a significant discount to the Ball.
The Atlanta Cutters are Atlanta’s own Post Production User group that encompasses all areas of Post, not just Editorial. We’re a non-profit organization founded by actual editors and artists in Atlanta in 2011. The Managing Members are Dan Daube (Turner Studios), Walter Biscardi, Jr. (Biscardi Creative Media), Kris Merkel (Flanders Scientific) and TJ Jaglinski (DCTV23). We’ve grown from a few dozen folks on our mailing list to over 800 members on the membership roll. Our monthly meetings have featured a “who’s who” in the industry from people to technology. We created the Southeast Creative Summit from an idea thrown out at one of our meetings of the type of event all of us would love to attend.
As a non-profit we’re not in this to make money. To that end, we hope you’ll appreciate that the pricing for this event is much lower than what we’ve seen for comparable presenters and information. We just want you to come gain some great insight on your craft, make some new friends and most of all, enjoy your stay in Atlanta. We look forward to welcoming all of you to our great city!
